The MFA is a wonderful way to meet new farriers and become connected with our vast farrier community. I was nervous attending my first clinic here but I had a warm welcome from fellow members. I've not missed a clinic since and I don't plan to anytime soon!

It is a great way to stay up-to-date on current events with the local farriers in the area. We make sure our prices are appropriate, discuss clients, and learn from the clinicians. And for me, it has been the best way to build my business - being on the directory.

The Maine Farriers Association is a great way for me to learn new things and see how other people do things. It’s also a good place to meet/talk to other farriers.

I think being part of the association is very important because, in this industry, we often work alone with very few who understand the difficulties of our jobs. Still, the association is a fantastic community of like-minded individuals who truly understand not only the troubles but the true successes that you have. They all are excited to celebrate your wins and lift you when you fall.

Being a new farrier, this association helped me connect with other farriers and showed me what farrier-ing is as a whole. I learned that different farriers shoe differently and can still achieve the same goal, while still being friendly and civil! I appreciated that those who attended were open minded to different techniques and ways to approach the problem at hand. This association gave me an introduction into radiographs and how the horse’s bone structures were benefiting due to a good shoeing.
